We maintain the highest level of sanitary standards in order to give our customers peace of mind, and we aim to satisfy everyone who walks through our doors beyond their expectations. so disappointing.do they just look at customers and profile them as to whether or not they should charge them more or less? Honestly, that's what it felt like, and it made me so uncomfortable I will not be going back.Zen Nail Spa is a family owned nail salon in Chattanooga, TN that offers a zen spa experience combined with excellent customer service and a pleasant, relaxing environment. this place charged me $50 FOR A GEL PEDICURE.the woman took a while to give me price as well- she was speaking in a foreign language to another worker while turning to look at me then proceeded to tell me my pedi was $50 dollars *rude*.I mean, really? Then she hovered over me (since I usually tip in cash I proceeded to sign the paper receipt w/out writing in a tip amount) she looked at me waiting for a tip making me feel really uncomfortable, so eventually I paid plus tip, $55 dollars.Worse part is the gel was peeling within 5 days. Great. However, not even in San Francisco, Berkeley, New York or anywhere I've been for that matter have I ever paid more than $50 dollars for a gel pedicure ALONE. The staff for the most part was friendly initially, accommodating, and the space was fairly clean. I always get the gel mani and pedi wherever I go (mostly in San Francisco) however, I was in a dire need of a pedi so I came here reading reviews since they have 4.5 stars on average. so disappointing.do they just look at customers and profile them as to whether or not they should charge them more or less? Honestly, that's what it felt like, and it made me so uncomfortable I will not be going back. I don't think I'll be returning or making an appointment. But something about our interaction left a bad first impression on me. It is clean and well kept the sink to wash your hands is up front, which is nice- considering some times you have to walk in a bathroom some places. Awkward? It obviously wasn't a call for an appointment, it was just her chatting to a friend, laughing- Lasting the rest of the appointment. It was obviously our first time, and they had barely spoken to us to know what we like or don't so why am I paying for something I've yet to see?The rest of the appointment took place with her on her cell phone, whilst finishing my friends nails. Mostly I assume, because we have yet to see the results of the job. I've never been charged halfway through a appointment. Anyway she continued the manicure after charging our card. W-wait, you haven't finished? It was a bit awkward and me and my friend just looked at each other. So, there's a star for you! But I was pretty disappointed when half way through the manicure as my friend washed her hands, the woman taking care of us asked for us to pay. Business is business, right?Anyway, my friend was able to start the manicure, and I was kindly asked to sit next to her. But not too surprised seeing as it was completely empty on a Sunday morning. So, when I walked in- I was lucky, it was empty and silent, and I asked one of the ladies if I may have a walk in appointment. I was a bit worried about walk-in's from reading reviews. First off, I was unable to make an appointment. :( I'm a bit nagged by the way they treated my friend when we walked in for a manicure. This is my first review on yelp, so that's a bit worrying.
